The God Who Speaks
5. God Speaks Through
Nature & Creation
Creation itself is a testimony to the powerful reality and nature of God. From the vastness of the stars to the delicate petals of a flower, the world that God made is full of his voice declaring his majesty, faithfulness, and care. The Bible says that creation continually pours out speech:
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.”
(Psalm 19:1–2)
Even those who have never heard the written word of God are held accountable because his eternal power and divine nature are visible through what has been made:
“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
(Romans 1:20)
Jesus often used examples from nature to teach spiritual truth - sparrows, lilies, fig trees, seeds, and vines - reminding His followers that God is constantly speaking through what He has created (Matthew 6:26-30, John 15:1-5).
Many believers have experienced moments when creation seems to speak personally. These experiences are not superstition, but moments of grace when the Holy Spirit draws our hearts to worship.
Reflection:
How has God used creation to remind you of his love, power, or faithfulness? Take time to notice his handiwork today.
