Welcome!
Thank you for visiting this space of prayer, reflection, and action.
October’s Theme:
Finance and Economic Solutions
This month we are invited to pause, reflect on, and pray for financial commitments from wealthy nations to support climate action in poorer countries, and for businesses to invest in green technologies.
Why This Matters
The climate crisis is deeply connected to questions of justice, economics, and generosity. While climate change affects all of us, its impacts fall most heavily on those who have contributed the least to the problem.
Addressing this injustice requires more than technological innovation or individual action; it demands financial commitment on a global scale. Wealthy nations have the resources to support climate resilience, invest in renewable energy, and fund recovery efforts for vulnerable communities. But too often, political hesitation, economic self-interest, or short-term thinking get in the way.
We also recognise the powerful role that businesses, banks, and investors play in shaping our future. The choices made in boardrooms and financial markets can either accelerate climate breakdown or fund hope-filled solutions. A shift toward green investment, ethical business, and fair trade isn’t just practical, it’s deeply spiritual: it reflects the heart of a God who cares about justice, equity, and flourishing for all people and all creation.
As followers of Jesus, we’re invited to imagine an economy not built on greed, fear, or exploitation, but on generosity, sustainability, and love of neighbour. We are called to pray for leaders and institutions with financial power, and to examine our own patterns of consumption, saving, and giving.
How You Can Pray
Pray for wisdom -
Ask God to strengthen and equip governments and financial leaders to make long-term, sustainable choices.
Pray for justice -
Pray that wealthier nations and corporations would take responsibility and act generously toward those most affected.
Pray for creativity -
Ask God to comfort those who fear financial hardship as a result of climate change or policies intended to tackle climate change, and ask him to step in where this economic suffering exists.
At our prayer station you’ll find interactive ways to engage with this theme. We invite you to join us in praying for the Church’s responsibility, and for our individual responsibility, to respond to God’s call to care for Creation.

Looking Ahead
Over the next couple of months of 2025, we’ll focus on two more different aspects of praying for our world: scientists and innovators, and future generations.
Thank You for Praying!
Your prayers matter. Let’s stand together in faith, trusting that God cares about his creation and is at work in our world.
